New Balance 1123

The New Balance 1123 is a master of motion control, and is designed to keep runners’ heels from wobbling during a run.

It sports N-Lock lacing technology for a good fit, and midsole foam for comfort. Its midsole are made of isoprene rubber for this comfort during a foot-impacting run. The ABZORB SBS cushioning at the heel and forefoot of the shoe creates a great shock absorption feature without compressing the shoe. The N-Durance crash pads located at high impact areas of the shoe ensure a smooth and comfortable ride. It also has 360 degree reflectivity so a runner can be seen in the dark. It weighs in at 14.6 ounces.

Testers of the New Balance 1123 found it comfortable, especially among big runners who overpronate. Runners with narrow feet may want to stay clear of this motion control shoe. For normal to wide feet however, it ranks high in comfort.

Other uses commented how it was a great non-orthotic shoe that sported the stability of an orthotic one. This shoe can be used for walking and casual activities as well. Runners recovering from surgery on their ankles loved the motion control system of this shoe. It really does firmly hold your ankles in place.

The shoe’s price ranges from $85-$150 usd, with the lower end of the range being online prices on Amazon.

The New Balance 1123 is recommended for runners in search of good motion control, and for overpronators whose feet wobble and need a firm hold. This motion control shoe may not agree with a more narrow foot though, especially of feet in search of an arch support, as this shoe lacks slightly in that department.
