Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS

CS stands for Comfort and Stability and with the latest installment from the Stabil series Saucony launches the ProGrid Stabil CS. The ProGrid Stabil CS is named one of Saucony’s best motion-control shoes.

The best feature of the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS is the Controlled Stability (CS) Zone which controls the foot throughout the gait cycle while providing optimal flexibility.

Saucony’s latest cushioning technology, ProGrid, absorbs impact, dissipates shock and sets the foot up for a smoother transition. Compared to earlier models that use the Grid technology, the ProGrid is more flexible. A feature that aids in the cushioning system is the Super Rebound Compound (SRC) found in the heel and the forefoot area of the midsole.

The ProGrid Stabil CS’s post is an injection of a harder foam material in the areas of the midsole where the foot needs more support than cushioning. This design allows the shoe to offer an incredible support during all the duration of the foot’s impact on the ground and the whole heel-to-toe transition. Testers appreciate the correction they are getting without the stiff fit.

Saucony also slices deep grooves in the forefoot to keep the heel-to-toe transition smooth and flexible. Lab tests show that the flexibility of this shoe is above average. This is great news for runners with flat arches who have endured running in non-flexible shoes.

The ProGrid Stabil CS has a roomier toebox compared to previous versions. This update accommodates runners with wide feet and those who require orthotics. Many find this update very essential although narrow-foot runners are skeptical.

The ArchLock in the upper keeps the fit snug on most feet. The stretchy material from the lateral to the medial side of the shoe locks the arch without being too restrictive. This update still allows foot movement, but not slipping and sliding in the midfoot area.

This shoe retails for $115 but can be bought cheaper on online stores. We found the Men’s version for only $54 and the Ladies’ for $85.

Overall, this shoe is a choice for runners who needs maximum pronation control without sacrificing cushioning and flexibility. It is also suitable for runners with flat or wide feet looking for motion-control shoes.
